A young man suspected to bomber was arrested today in kano




Nigeria security forces have arrested a suspect in connection with the bomb blast that happened this afternoon at the School of Hygiene, BUK Road in Kano at least eight people lost their lives with 12 others sustaining various degrees of injury. 

 Confirming the arrest, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adenrele Shinaba said investigations will begin immediately "The suspect is in our custody, and the vehicle he used for the operation has also been towed to the police headquarters. 

We will get to know the motive behind the attack, and who sent him on this deadly errand." he said He also confirmed 20 people were taken to the hospital after the bomb blast and 8 of them have been confirmed dead.

Borno state, 60 girls reportedly kidnapped in Kummabza village





The twitter handle of the Nigerian Television Authority, is reporting that sixty girls were kidnapped by insurgence in Kummabza village, in Damboa LGA in Borno state.

About sixty girls between the ages of 3-12 years have been abducted by insurgents in Kummabza village of Damboa local government area of Borno State. 

Reports from the area indicates that the insurgents also killed about thirty people and destroyed property worth millions of naira during an attack on the community, residents of the village are taking refuge in Lassa and Gulak in Adamawa State. 

They appealed to the authorities to provide them with shelter and relief materials to reduce their sufferings. Further updates to be provided as soon as we have them...

2face Idibia slams N100million lawsuit against Icon magazine for libel






A popular music artist well know 2face Idibia has slammed a N100million suit against soft-sell magazine, Icon Weekly, for libel. 

The Media/Entertainment Law Firm of L & A- Legal Consultants has filed libel proceedings on behalf of 2face, at the Ikeja High Court asking the court to award their client the sum of N100million being damages for the libelous publication posted on the magazine’s online and print platforms. 


In March this year, Icon alleged that 2face committed adultery by impregnating a 'Lagos top banker' who is supposedly his account officer in one of the new generation banks and that infact, the lady had every intention of keeping the baby. 

The story went viral, which 2face later denied. 

A source close to the music icon said the story, which was found to be false, made 2face lose a very lucrative deal and caused ripples between him and his wife. 

Icon weekly is said to have approached 2face’s team for discussions on a possible out of court settlement.

Press release: pres Jonathan appoints Bode George’s wife, Roli, as new NDLEA boss




President Jonathan has appointed Mrs. Roli Bode-George as the new Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). 

The appointment was announced this evening by Presidential Spokesperson, Reuben Abati. 
Mrs Bode-George takes over from Mr Olufemi Ajayi, who is now the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). 

The appointment is with immediate effect. 

Bode George was arrested and jailed for fraud and abuse of office when he served as chairman of the Nigeria Ports Authority, but his conviction was later upturned by the Supreme Court.

$227million Abacha loot recovered from Liechtenstein




There was a reason corruption charges was dropped against Mohammed Abacha, the eldest son of late former Nigerian Head of State, Gen, Sani Abacha. $227million stolen money has been recovered from the Abacha family. 


On June 25th Nigeria will receive $227million from the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Europe, as the nation is said to have agreed to release the stolen money. 

AFP reports that the federal government said today Thursday June 19th that it dropped the charges against Mohammed in a deal to allow the return of the Liechtenstein money. 

Mohammed Abacha is wanted in the US for his alleged part in laundering $458m in funds stolen by his late father and frozen by the U.S in February. Abacha, who died in 1998 and is believed to have stolen up to $5 billion.
